Before match day
Three things take longer than you expect, and all of them have to be done in advance, not at the toss.
- Enable live streaming on your YouTube channel. YouTube can take up to 24 hours to grant it on a channel that has never streamed.
- Facebook needs an established account. Meta requires the account to be at least 60 days old with 100 or more followers before it can go live.
- Test your overlay link. Open it in your phone's browser and have someone score a ball. If it does not update there, it will not update on your stream.
Common problems
The overlay is too big, too small, or in the wrong place
Open Overlay → Fit. "Match frame" renders the page at your broadcast's own size, which is right for most links. If everything lands too small, try 1920px; too large, try 1280px. The Zoom slider handles anything else. If your page is only a ticker bar, set Placement to Bottom strip and adjust the strip height.
The overlay is not updating
Check the pill at the top of the viewfinder. "Overlay failed" means the page did not load — check the link and your signal. If it says "Overlay on" but the score is stale, the page itself has stopped updating; tap the reload button on the Overlay screen. Raise Refresh to Smooth if your page animates or scrolls.
Video inside my overlay page does not appear
It cannot. Crix captures the page using a rendering path that does not carry embedded video or WebGL. Scoreboards, tickers and graphics work; video-in-video does not.
The picture is letterboxed with black bars
The broadcast frame's shape is fixed when the viewfinder opens. Hold the phone the way you intend to film before opening it — leaving and re-entering the screen re-shapes the frame. Cricket is normally filmed sideways.
The stream keeps dropping
Watch the bitrate reading on the viewfinder while live. If it sits well below your quality setting, the signal cannot carry it — drop to 720p in Quality. Platforms end a broadcast whose feed starves.
Facebook says the app lacks permission
Until Meta's App Review of Crix completes, only accounts listed as testers on our Meta app can go live. Email us if you need to be added.
It asks me to sign in again
Facebook sessions last about 60 days and then need renewing. Crix warns you in the Go live screen during the last week.
Reporting a bug
Email support@aftrix.com with your phone model, Android version, what you were doing, and what happened. If it involves the overlay, the link you were using helps enormously.
